Office Space Planning Includes Taking the Time to Map Out Phone Jack and Outlet LocationsWhen designing office layout of a new or existing space, make sure you note locations of electrical outlets and phone jacks,  as these will help determine the position and placement of system furniture.  Outlet and phone jack locations may also help determine the traffic patterns in your office.  

If the outlet/phone jack you plan to use for your printer or fax is in an inaccessible or crowded corner, for example, you may have a hard time accessing that machine if it needs repair work.
